What do I need?

An Apple TV with MyMediaPlayer installed and open, and an iPhone running iOS 17 or later, connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as the Apple TV.

My Apple TV doesn't show up in the list?

Make sure MyMediaPlayer is open on the Apple TV and that the iPhone is on the same Wi‑Fi network. Also allow local network access: iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > MyMediaRemote. “Guest” networks often isolate devices from each other and prevent discovery.

How do I pair my iPhone?

Choose your Apple TV in the list: a 4-digit code appears on the TV. Enter it on the iPhone. The code expires after two minutes. You only need to pair once: the iPhone is then recognized automatically.

The code is rejected.

Check the digits shown on the TV. After several wrong attempts, or if the code has expired, choose the Apple TV again to get a new code.

Switch Apple TV or pair again

Tap the “…” button at the top right to open Settings: “Disconnect” returns to the Apple TV list, “Pair again” asks for a new code and “Forget this Apple TV” removes the pairing.

The slider doesn't change the TV volume.

That's expected: tvOS doesn't let apps control the TV volume. The slider adjusts MyMediaPlayer's software gain, from −9 to +9 dB.

How do I change the source (Jellyfin, Plex, Samba, UPnP)?

The source is chosen on the Apple TV, in MyMediaPlayer. The remote then browses the library shown there. Access to Jellyfin, Plex and Samba servers requires the MyMediaPlayer subscription.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 09/19/2026

MyMediaRemote (“the app”) is an iPhone remote for MyMediaPlayer, published by Fiquemo Fabrice. This policy explains what data the app processes.

1. No collection of personal data

The app does not collect, store or send any personal data to our servers. We do not run any server that would receive your data.

2. Communication with your Apple TV

The app discovers MyMediaPlayer on your local network (Bonjour) and communicates directly with your Apple TV to display and control playback. These exchanges stay on your local network; they do not go through us.

3. Artwork

To show the artwork of the current track, the iPhone may download it directly from the media server configured in MyMediaPlayer (Jellyfin, Plex, UPnP/DLNA).

4. Pairing

During pairing, your iPhone's name is sent to the Apple TV to identify it on screen. The pairing code is never sent in clear text. The key used for automatic reconnection is stored only on your devices, in Apple's Keychain.

5. Settings

Your preferences (appearance, last Apple TV used) are kept on your iPhone. You can erase them by deleting the app.

6. No tracking or advertising

The app contains no ads, no trackers and no third-party analytics. We do not track your activity.

7. Children

The app does not knowingly collect any data about children.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated; the date of the last update is shown at the top of this section.
